Soek ’n Vrou’s Reandi to hit the farm roads in search of love for new season’s farmers
Since Die Brug's contestants have finished building their bridges, it’s time for the farmers to cross their own bridge to potential love in Boer Soek ’n Vrou.

Since Die Brug's contestants have finished building their bridges, it’s time for the farmers to cross their own bridge to potential love in Boer Soek ’n Vrou.
The 17th season of this popular matchmaking reality show premieres on Thursday, 7 August on kykNET (DStv channel 144).
This year’s crop of hopefuls ranges in age from 26 to 56, with farmers representing six provinces. The Free State leads the pack with three eligible bachelors.
As always, Boer Soek ’n Vrou - a firm favourite on the South African TV calendar since 2007 - will primarily focus on the five farmers who received the most entries from potential partners.
For the first time, Reandi Grey takes the wheel of the Boer Soek ’n Vrou Hilux bakkie, and she says viewers can expect a fresh season full of surprises.
“There aren’t just ten new farmers,” explains Reandi, “but also a brand-new director (Ferdinand van Zyl) and me as the new presenter.”
“All the farmers who entered are people I’d personally want to keep close to me for the rest of my life.”
“They’re truly salt-of-the-earth individuals who deserve love - and I feel honoured to have been part of their journey,” she adds.
According to her, it’s amazing to witness the transformation the farmers undergo from beginning to end - and everything they experience along the way.
“It’s a role I wish for everyone to experience at some point in life, because being part of a love story - whether it’s your own or someone else’s - is truly special and necessary.”
