The Namibian creative scene is about to experience an unexpected but exciting new wave as well-known celebrity photographer Andrew Ingo steps into the spotlight with a bold new alter ego — ChaQee Pleez, a musical persona rooted in passion, creativity, and unapologetic originality.
For years, Andrew Ingo has been behind the lens capturing some of Namibia’s most iconic figures, moments, and visuals. Now, he's stepping from behind the camera to the mic, ready to deliver a unique sonic experience that breaks the mold.
Who is ChaQee Pleez?
The name ChaQee Pleez is as distinctive as the artist himself. "Back in my younger days, I had a real obsession with the classic All Star Chuck Taylor sneakers," says Ingo. “That’s where the name originates from — Chuck Taylor became ChaQee after I switched up the spelling to make it unique. Funny enough, people sometimes assume it’s from the horror movie doll ‘Chucky,’” he laughs. “As for Pleez, it’s just a playful twist on the word please. So when you say ‘ChaQee Pleez,’ you’re basically begging for more of the vibe — more music, more entertainment.”
No Limits, Just Vibes
When asked about his genre, ChaQee Pleez makes it clear: he doesn’t box himself in. “I don’t apply limitations to my creativity. I see music as art, and art should be free. I’m like a surprise box — you never really know what’s inside until you open it. One moment it’s soulful, the next it’s a vibe you’ve never heard before.”
What's Next?
Though fans may be hoping for a full album, ChaQee Pleez is taking a different approach. “Right now, I’m focusing on dropping singles,” he shares. “You can definitely expect a steady flow of music soon — just not a full album yet.”
Collaborations Coming?
ChaQee hints at potential collaborations with some of Namibia’s top talents. “While nothing is officially signed yet, there are definitely some exciting discussions happening behind the scenes. I won’t name-drop just yet but best believe, when it happens, it’ll be worth the wait.”
First Single: "Abundance"
His debut single “Abundance” is more than just a song — it’s a mindset. “It was inspired by the power of words and the energy they carry. The chorus is a series of affirmations: ‘I live in abundance, everywhere is abundance, call me abundant, I walk in abundance.’ It’s a reminder to align yourself with prosperity and gratitude. It’s not just a track — it’s a mantra.”
As Andrew Ingo redefines himself through music, ChaQee Pleez is shaping up to be Namibia’s freshest voice — unpredictable, artistic, and full of surprises.
